.org domains will become more expensive May 13, 2008

The .ORG registry, Public Interest Registry (PIR) has decided to increase price of .org domains for 10% as of 9th November 2008. That means from current $6.15 per domain to $6.75. Last year they increased prices of .org for 2.5%.

Any specific reason why they are deciding to increase prices on the .org extension again?

Well while doing research I haven’t found any reason why they are increasing price. Maybe cause of the more interest in .org domains? Maybe someone else can elaborate more specifically.
